« The horse is a good teacher, whether for the body, heart or spirit » – Xénophon, philosopher.
The riding centre has chosen to welcome a wide range of people, with a focus on working with children and young adults on the autistic spectrum. To do so in the best conditions possible, we have decided to promote and develop an ethology based approach of horse riding. Our reference is one of the best known specialists of ethology in the world, Andy BOOTH. (Parelli instructor level 4 – 4 stars; BPJEPS équitation; BFEE 3). All our riding instructors are trained and supervised by Catherine and Andy BOOTH.
By the end of 2014 the new facilities will be at your disposal, including a 20x60m indoor arena with a viewing gallery, stables and stalls, a clubhouse and changing rooms, all with disabled access.
We can also offer two 20x60m outdoor arenas and an easy access to a multitude of scenic riding trails.
The horses at Domaine de Fraisse are versatile and are suitable for all levels of riders. We can offer group or individual lessons different disciplines of ridding.
The individual lessons can be tailored to your needs and requirements. The group lessons are for a maximum of 6 people and each session begins with some ground work exercises with the horse, followed by a mounted lesson, both delivered in the spirit of ethology.
To welcome people on the autistic spectrum we offer sessions of help through the direct contact with horses. Whether for families, health professionals or institutions, adapted and specific facilities with our trained personnel are available.
For people who enjoy ridding, for pleasure or for sport, we can offer riding lessons and treks, all in the spirit of ethology.
Through that spirit you will have the opportunity to work with the horse on foot and mounted in order to establish a relationship of long lasting trust between you.
Whilst trekking at Domaine de Fraisse you will have the opportunity to discover our 140 hectares of woodlands and fields, but also the unspoilt Cathar Country with its challenging terrain and magnificent views of the Pyrenees.
Finally, for those wishing to bring their horses on livery, we can offer a natural environment and quality working areas with a variety of livery options available.
Our wish is to offer a warm and friendly welcome to all in an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to develop and discover the practises which we believe will enhance happiness and wellbeing for you and the horse.
